C.C. Adcock bears the distinction of being probably the only artist produced by both a protege of Dr. Dre and the legendary Jack Nitzsche. Adcock weaves many unrelated styles into his brand of Louisiana blues: dance rhythms, slide guitars, and a bit of down-home voodoo are all parts of his distinctive sound. Pull on your alligator boots and head for the dance floor.
With a hotbed of musical activity emerging from Baton Rouge, La., the resulting style was defined by loose, plodding rhythms and percussive boogie-guitar playing. The decidedly slower tempos give Louisiana blues both a laid-back and a slightly sinister quality.
Notable Artists: Nathan Abshire, Guitar Junior, Leroy Junior
