Pedro Angel's fingers masterfully caress the guitar to produce an astounding array of sharp expressive tones and warm rich melodies. I was absolutely amazed with his briliant use of the guitar's harmonics and his ability to weave and build such powerful and complex rhythm and melody structures. It leads one to believe this may be what the Angel Peter (Pedro) plays at the pearly gates. Magnýfico!

Riera's Cancion

Angel plays this Cancion to perfection. Sadly, the Venezuelan composer Rodrigo Riera is rather undersung.
Hobbyist guitarists like myself (I'm sure Pedro won't mind me digressing) can play his easier suite Four Venezuelan Pieces (Universal Edition UE 29174) edited by John W.Duarte.
Riera's Monotonia (the title refers to musical terminology-and not mood!) and Nostalgia are particularly outstanding in the collection-and any guitarist of modest ability will find great delight in them. Thanks Pedro for bringing this composer to our attention.
