Past, present and future are all there and shining bright.

Someone may think I'm inclined to overrate the various artists I've been reviewing, but I know it's not so.

Hey, I was 4 years old when I got started in listening to good music, no matter the kind, and I think this has given me an unexpected chance to appreciate what is flowing through my ears. That doesn't mean I can't be wrong, but it's only a sort of safeguard to limit that possibility as much as possible. The rest is taste and I know but too well that taste is just as personal as DNA, so no discussion about that.

Now, take Glansbeek: should I say he's just an average musician ? He's much above the mediocrity line. He masters a number of instruments like only a few could do. He can cover such a wide horizon encompassing straight american folk, bluegrass, jazz and eventually country, but he can play a tarantella as well, and he can even reach out to nostalgic "brodyaga" (russian for "hobo")ballads as in the very first part of "Master Medley". Friends, in 60 years of listening and recording I'm not sure I met more than a handful of artists who could match such a wide coverage at his level.

That's why I'm inviting you all to drink a toast to Glansbeek as a true grand master in his own huge field of action.

Honestly, I wish I could have all of his records, but knowing I can't, just let me pay a sincere and objective tribute to his uncommon ability with the various instruments he uses.

And a final heartfelt thanks to the Editor for giving him enough room to show what a top artist he is.

Master Medley is just playing right now and I'm too much involved to go on writing.

The heart has its own ways.
