It May Sound Amateurish And That's What It Is, But It's Good

Maybe I'm going upstream, but il Alan Lomax was still around I'm sure he would have treasured his recordings of "One Field" as one of those unmissable pearls in that unique chain he called folklore, the mother of all kinds of music.
What do I care, in this case, about the singer's voice and his technical ability with it or with the accompaining instrument ? What does it matter if the tempos are not split up to the second or if the armony leaves something to be desired ?
Folk music doesn't necessarily mean being sort of trash to be classified as such, but it would be a gross mistake to always expect of it that kind of "top quality" the charters have brainwashed all of us with.
Many times, when walking through the countryside around my town I met with people who'd sing and play just as "One Field" and I just stopped and listened to what they were singing about. Usually, it ended up with an invitation to his or their home to share a few slices of salame or ham and a good glass of wine. And a new friendship was born.
I love folk music even when it's not dressed up for a big show.
The reason why is it always gives you a chance to learn what "Tin Pan Alley" glittering stars won't be able to teach you.
Most of them are nothing but shining figurines who would disdain and laugh down the kind of "One Field"...but while he's talking real life, they get satisfied in selling their makebelieve pictures of it.
I love them too, but I ain't taking them seriously. That I usually reserve for those people like "One Field".

Very refreshing sound. His voice and guitar are calming and relaxing.
Please post more of your music and/or a link to a CD. Your website doesn't say anything. Where do you play, for instance?
