This is the most perfect & cool music

Now I love my jazz (my father played jazz bass), so I believe I know a thing or two about the genre. As regards the music of Bernadette Seacrest (what a name) I have to say - that it's perfect hip music for the sophisticated barfly and after hours drinkers. Her voice is sexy sultry and her timing is impeccable.
Thumbs up! My favourite discovery.

Why is this retro?

Why isn't the music of "today" as vibrant and emotional as Mrs. Seacrest and her cohorts? Why is this music not on the radio and on the shelves as being hot and new? I would put Mrs. Seacrest in the league of Andrew Bird or the Squirrel Nut Zippers, and I would voice the same complaint about their music, too. All to often we find ourselves spinning the dial on the radio looking for something that doesn't sound like the formulaic music of today. How refreshing it would be to encounter something from the formulas of yesterday; how refreshing to find something as moody and inspiring as Bernadette Seacrest and the Yes Men.

I can't improve on the editor's comments. I thought I was listening to Billie Holliday. I could chill to this at anytime of night, smoochin on a beach with my girl. Or sitting in a whitewashed cellar bar smokin' reefers. Very Nice!
