If you like "Oregon" and "The Modern Jazz Quartet", you're likely to love Erik Deutsch. He saunters through some lovely compositions using classic jazz motifs & time changes. The three cuts represented here are sonically interesting enough to bear hearing several times in a single sitting. The acoustic atmosphere lends a proximity and intimacy to the recordings. It's the kind of thing you just want to concentrate on so you can appreciate the subtleties again and again.
