I don't understand why people always completely underrate M.I.A. I love her as an artist. Every piece she puts out is unique, colorful and alive. I agree this album is not as "in your face" as her album Arular, however Kala is a great sophomore album by her. The beats are more uniform and planned, the lyrics "M.I.A. COMIN' BACK WITH POWER POWER" speak for themselves. I have always thought you either absolutely LOVED M.I.A. or hated her. If you listened to her music for more than five minutes and read the lyrics as you did...you would love it even if you didnt understand why. There is no comparitavely passionate solo artist out there right now. If you want to listen to music that sounds like everyone else, go buy a Kelly Clarkson CD. If you want to listen to something that will collide with conformity and move your soul, listen to M.I.A.
