Does not seem to get into the music. Lyrics are not free flowing and easy. This may be why she looks so blah on stage. See MSN/Video "Sasquatch Festival which is what I have mainly based this review on. 3 stars cause did like "If you Knew"

Transcendental roots pop with great vocals.

Neko Case is one of the finest voices in pop music today and ranks with the all time greats. She chooses her stylings and contributors well and executes with outstanding thoughtfulness. Some would complain about overproduction, but I feel it suits her well and accentuates her fantastic talent. This is definitely must-have music and her best work to date.

Her voice reminds me of Mazzie Star's Hope Sandoval, but alive... Great texture and lyrics, takes suprising but smooth turns and the old timey backup vocals are a perfect country homage.

For me it's all about the voice. Yes, she writes great lyrics and is great in The New Pornographers. But I could listen to her sing the phone book all day long. Plus, she kind of sounds like Allison Krauss with a cold. This is a good thing.
