with one single to make my take with?
Although the beat and lyrics are top-notch, I can't help but wonder; if this band really cares about the fans and not the success?
I usually DL the MP3 and play it for friends and parties. this feedback becomes important, as well as, the personal listening experience.
A promising up and coming band, that hordes their work already? I will not buy the album yet. At least not based on one song and SJ's selfish beginnings.
Yes, I have purchased a few CD's based on this website and also based on the bands generous nature and first-hand interaction.
Sorry, SJ. 1000's of bands, can make one great song.

Peruse through several of the local starting up bands with a female singer in your area using either craigslist or myspace and see if they have any mp3s of their work on their pages. Click the sample and you will more than likely have a revelation that they all sound about as good sometimes worse but sometimes even better than this band and then re-think your rating of this song/album/band. I gave this band a 3/5 without a hint of hesitation as the music felt very genuine and heart felt but at the same time very over done.

I love Saving Jane. I heard them when they were at OSU. I checked around for them but never heard anything until a few months ago. I am so glad they made it big!
However, I just listened to Mary and I have to say I like the version I have (butterfly CD from their time at OSU). Its rougher and has more soul!
I hope to see more good songs from them soon!

The music here reminds me of Avril Lavign and Natalie Merchant. Very well put together music. A little too familiar to what's out there. I like the talent shining through. I would really like to hear the "Sophmore" album. The singles listed here are definatly Radio Friendly. Studio Production is a B+. The mix is a little bass heavy, mainly in the kick drum area. I would like to see SJ venture past the lines a little bit and break some rules.
Marti has a great voice. I wish she could have been around the Erie area!! Good female vocals are tough to find.
