good to chill

Sometimes a little too Rufus Wainwright ("The Fighter", very "Cigarettes and Chocolate Milk") and Elliott Smith, but fans of these will find it appeases their acoustic cabaret chill and feel appetites. "Tickets to Crickets" builds on a piano track, lays over some light and simple rhythm and crescendoes, breaking back into an diminishing caterwaul that is at once anticlimactic and poetic. "A Crack in Time" is probably what earned his Dylan comparison, although it rings more of Wilco's Mermaid Avenue treatments of Woodie Guthrie. Overall, Ferraby issues some beautifully simplistic tracks and lyrics, well worth adding to the playlist.
