Iron maiden are still the best rock/metal band, no matter how long of a break they have they always make a perfect comeback.... It just goes to show the British know how to rock....

Better than Dance of Death yet does not rise to the level of Brave New World. There are more good, heavy riffs in this album than their last but not as much as BRW.

When you hear the live songs, your skin will be like a chicken. Really good metal.

I have been a hardcore Maiden fan since the early 80's when I first heard them. I am 41 yrs old now and still scream out UP THE IRONS!!!!!!

Without ever straying from their signature sound, these guys continue to keep the metal march going. This album stands right next to their iconic hits of the 80's and does not pale. If you are a Maiden fan, you won't be dissapointed, and if you are new, you are in for an awakening.
They are a musician's band. Without a single radio hit, or top music video, they continue today to sell out stadiums worldwide. If you ask any metal musician to name their faves and influences, you will ALWAYS find IM on their lists.
IM did not invent heavy metal, but rather defined it. These guys pioneered the staples of today, like shredding twin solos, and double bass drums. And with few songs weighing in at less than 7 minutes, they have never been afraid to just rock out.
They have never pandered to the usual foul-mouthed, cars, girls, and hateful lyric formula of todays amateurs. Their lyrics are poetic epics about fantasy images and the battles of yesteryear. If Tolkein's characters played rock guitar, this is what we would get.
They also set the standard for live performance and if you can't see them, get one of their many live concert films.
