Morrissey's staying power is impressive. He sounds as good now as he every did. 2004's "comeback" record was good, but the songs were a bit over-produced and slick. However, judging by this track, I can't wait to hear the new record.

Love him or hate him. I love him. But he should knock off rolling all those R's.

Just as he was with the Smiths, his solo works will still be mis-understood by the kind of people that gloss over the lyrics & confuse his monotone delivery as being morose. His wit & humour is still evident & the musical accompaniment remains full of great guitar sound! His ***** ambiguity is part of the appeal (he may well 'bat for the other side' but, who cares).

Morrissey succeeds in plumbing the depths of sorrow, yearning, love and despair...so often coexisting in this world of hidden agendas. At times I wonder if he is ever at peace with his conflicted emotions. No doubt he has experienced firsthand, ranges of adoration unfelt by those of us without his musical skill. Envy burns thru me!
