It has been a long time since I've sampled a new artist and had to go out immediately and buy their CD. That was my reaction to "Separate Ways." Teddy Thompson's songs express intimate thoughts that are undeniable and accessible, particularly "I Should Get Up" and "I Wish It Were Over." I have long heard about his parents Richard and Linda Thompson and the cult following they had created for their music. But I wasn't motivated to check them out for myself. After hearing Teddy maybe it's time.
