'The Band' is the quintessential rock & roll band, never going to extremes but delivering the music in such a manner that it is almost timeless.
Because they stayed true to their roots, I have to place them at least on par with the 'Greatfull Dead' and slightly above the likes of the 'Rolling Stones' or some of their contemporaries, especially during the 70's and 80's.
