Intellectual and introspective lyrics, honest delivery

Ray Davies is a giant in rock and popular music. His strengths are numerous, but for me the first is his philosophic interpretive lyrics. His voice is clear and steady, though his range has always been limited, he uses it magically. He always has a wide variety of styles in his albums, and my favorites are his driving rock style and his musing storytelling songs. This album uses different backing musicians, but Ray has ensured that the sound and quality are consistent with his style and high quality. Ray is really in a class by himself; a poet, philosopher, melody weaver and always "accessible" as one of us.

Ray is a major singersongwriter of modern music. Always inventive in song lyrics and style and has more hooks to his songs than Mike Tyson opponents!!!Nice one Ray.
