Ive listened to Dr.Hook before, but im not crazy about this, maybe its because its just not my kind of music. Now "Queen of the Silver Dollar" is ok.

I've heard his name and read his poetry, but I never realized until yesterday how much of late-20th-century pop culture he wrote. Songs from my college years that I haven't heard in decades.... Like Sylvia's Daughter and Cover of the Rolling Stone. I recommend you listen a bit.

Uncle Shelby has made me smile since I was a child. I loved his books of poetry, and as I grew up and learned that not everyone wrote the songs they recorded, I discovered that many of my favorite songs had been written by Shel Silverstein. I promise you, kids will love to sing them with you! Sing with your kids! What a novel idea! My parents did!
