The best of the best sound elements, integrated...

I enjoy the flowing groove and melodies in this song. Itęs almost as if the subtle yet profound wind of Patti Wittenęs own talent is carrying her along through this song, entirely effortlessly and gracefully. While her voice is absolutely unique, to my ears it carries some of the best elements of sound in Joni Mitchellęs, Bonnie Raittęs and Sheryl Crowęs voices and singing styles, all combined into one.

Patti is as smooth as Folk singers can get...The example here, "Black Butterfly" is as relaxing as a gentle thunder in the distance....Guitar work is superb....highly recommended.

This song is ***** brilliant

While browsing through the artists I was downloading songs on random. After listening to them I discovered one real gem among them: some song that sounded just like it had been taken directly from Shawn Colvins brilliant "A few small repairs" album. I am a huge fan of her and consider her producer/co-writer John Leventhal as THE musical genius.

Of course I had to know who this artist is: Patti Witten.

Ladies and Gentleman, this woman is IT. On "Black Butterfly" she presents a versatile yet unagitated voice that reminds me somehow of ... no other singer - which might well be a very good thing, because that means that her voice has something unique.

Being a huge fan of Colvin/Leventhal I must say that Rich DePaolos production of this wonderful piece could well have been done by Leventhal himself, which is about the greatest compliment I can make.

Going to her website where you can listen to more snippets and download maybe some more songs is a very good idea. This will give you an impression of this versatile artist that Patti Witten is. She may not be so exciting, the songs might not always be top 10 material, but be honest: the best songs usually aren't. What you get if you listen to Patti Witten is honesty, beautifully and carefully developed songs that really tell stories that are worth listening to.

And well, I have a new favourite.
