A letdown

I personally was dissappointed here. I listened to the "Certain Leaders In Government" one, and firstly, the title had nothing to do with anything, because it certainly didn't describe the material. And said material wasn't very funny either. I maybe laughed aloud once in that entire 4-5 minutes. He seems to be going for that laid-back deadpan delivery, and fails miserably at it. Not like he's using great jokes to begin with. Some new material, new delivery, and then David Cross may be a contender. Until then, his latest album title says it all "It's Not Funny."

David Cross is the funniest man in America

David Cross is one of the funniest, smartest, and most demented comedians in America. Fans of the (sadly short-lived) "Mr. Show" and "Arrested Development" are probably already familiar with Mr. Cross's work, but his solo comedy is every bit as hilarious. Conservatives should definitely steer clear.

Cross, co-star of the legendary underground hit Mr.Show with Bob Odenkirk, is a cynical commentator with an extreme distaste for hypocrisy. Not so much anti-american as anti-establishment. Not a liberal or conservative but rather an anarchist standing back and laughing at the true believers getting duped day in and day out. While always cutting edge some of his material falls flat not so much because he pulls punches but rather because he tries too hard to offend. There is little doubt there is conviction behind the material but some of the bombs thrown just turn out to be duds.
