Granted, Paul Oakenfold has earned his place in the history of electronica and dance, however, his latest songs are nothing to really write home about. As with most mainstraim artists in this genre, there's little innovation and a lack of musical depth. As is the same case with BT, (whom worked with the backstreet boys) there's little to differenciate this style with pop, except for there being a bit more emphasis on beats and rythmns and less importance on vocals except as another loopable sound.
It's not bad, but there's better and far more well thought out songs.

Yeah. I guess Oak's losing his taste in the genre he sticks to. Plus, he is often overlapping genres. I mean, look at it. Dance? Pop? Rock? You cant differentiate.
I was kind of wrong about Tiesto and Van Dyk. I thought they were going down, but both of them have recently been stunning so far. In around a year's time, my impression of both has really been elevated. Oakie was good in Bunka but he's really lost taste. I mean, i can't even believe it. Look at Creamfields (2004) for that matter. Stunning, i must say, but this Lively Mind thing is really making me go to sleep...
