And there's at least more bass, whether you like tuba or not. Papa Mali's sample track is good for trying to doze off to--if you're not too put off by the vocals. Close to Redbone's (Leon, not the American Indian artist), but without the richer bass quality. Someone wrote that Johnny Winter was a similar artist. That person needs to go and actually listen to Johnny. Papa Mali is nothing like either of the Winters. I did not finish listening to this sample, sorry, Papa. Keep working at it, though, there's potential.

I agree, he is no Johnny Winter, not even close. This music is not for dozing. It is easy listening and the intent is just that. I think you are a bit harsh in saying you are "put off by the vocals". I think his voice is fine for this style of music and the instruments are played nicely. I'll go listen to Redbone now and see how similar he is. Apparently you like him.
