Boards Of Canada

boards of canada is the best band in the world

i have been listening to tons of different genres over the years, ranging from chillout/new age over hiphop, dancehall, house, electro, idm, trance, rock, grunge, punk hardcore, metalcore, metal, and so on. to say the least, i've heard quite some bands so far. but it was not until about 2 years ago when i discovered boards of canada for myself that i could say "i have a favorite band", which really resonates with me and reflects my inner feelings.

now, as for the record: the 2 most outstanding tracks to me are "chromakey dreamcoat" and "dayvan cowboy" - which are obviously the singles as well. the album reminds me more of "music has the right to children" than "geogadaddi", but since mhtrtc is my fave boc-album, "the campfire headphase" is not a bad choice at all - if you like it i suggest you to buy the album, if not for the great artwork alone. these guys still have a huge potential to be accepted in mainstream media - it's only a matter of time...

i really dig this one, although i usually don't like liquid funk etc..the guitar melody and the beats, plus the beatbox - it all fits together very well. check out my own stuff at download.com/spot - hope you like it as well :)

Pendulum

best dnb-production ever!

pendulum are THE dnb-producers of our present time. hold your colour is actually my favorite on the new album. I strongly believe that this band will have commercial and chart success in the near future. They have already set their path with a whole bunch of high quality releases, the production is superb, the melodies are catchy, but the music still has the punch and drive to smash dancefloors across the globe. I also recon that they are coming from a punk/hardcore/metal background (in opposition to most dnb heads who've listened to hiphop/breaks/bigbeat/jazz and so on), which you can somehow sense in many of their tunes.

Watch out for these guys before they take off!

other play tips from the album:
