Smoke or Fire

Different, But Good

I quite enjoyed listening to Smoke or Fire. Not as loud as some hardcore music, but still has the same loud feel to it. They claim to have some emo in their music, but I just don't hear it (probably just me though). Not that it makes a difference, Smoke or Fire is an amazing band.

Rise Against

Amazing Song

Off of the CD "Revolutions Per Minute," "Heaven Knows" is one of Rise Againsts' best songs. Although not one of the newest examples of their music (their latest CD at the time of writing this is "Siren Songs of the Counter Culture," on which this track is not featured), it is definitly one of their best. Rise Against has the ability to combine amazingly well-written lyrics with extremely well done instrumental work. "Heaven Knows" is one of the best examples of this.

Underoath

Absolutely Amazing

Underoath is by far my favourite artist. They're classified here as emo, but that barely scratches the surface of what they are. Originally a hardcore metal band, they've evolved from their debut CD "The Changing of Times" to bring a more punk-like sound to their music. They're a Christian band, but you wouldn't know it from listening to them. They play music with intensity and volume, yet their skill doesn't end there. Unlike many other hardcore bands, Underoath can play soft music effectively, to accent the loud parts of their songs. On top of that, the actual singers have amazing voices, and their screamer is brilliant as well.
