Boiling Bayou Cajun Band

Enjoy with blackened fish and Southern Comfort!

What the hell is going down in Sweden? All this great traditional stuff giving the Yanks a run for their money. This is as authentic as you can get, great sound too. Download these tracks for your next canoeing adventure!

Mike Dougherty

Traditional and honest performance.

Mike knows his stuff and comes across as a bit of an encyclopeadia of trad fingerpicking styles. The modern listener probably wants a bit more adventure in this style of playing though. Down here in Australia we have Tommy Emmanuel, Nick Charles, and Michael Fix, just to name a few who've collectively spoilt us with their virtuosity. Their roots and influences are similar but the additional "intangibles" that these guys add to their playing and compositions elevate them above rudimentary. Having said that Stefan Grossman would jam with you anytime. Keep up the good work.

The Merritts featuring Randy Howard

Wistful and lilting melodies.

Thankyou for sharing this music. Beautifully heartfelt and honest and I love the sound.

Rockridge Brothers

This is real and raw, with an exciting edge.

Down here in Australia we like to think we have a pretty good measure of bluegrass/string musicians of exceptional calibre but these guys really rip it! Forget about precision technique these blokes are all about feel and energy with an enthusiasm not tempered by an upbringing fed on Stateside virtuosity. Sometimes you can be too sterile but here you'll find a bunch of fans paying homage to their heroes by adding a serious dose of attitude that let's the good times roll!!
