Clare Dowling

Unique Production, Lyrically Fascinating

Clare Dowling puts a new spin on some familiar pop sounds and sings with passion, in fine lyrical fashion. "This is where I want to be, surrounded by love and wild green trees" is from Clare's tune "I Am A Happy". Lyrics like this evoke a kind of fantasy realm that draws the listener into Ms. Dowling's unique thought process and musical realm. Lots of neat insturmentation here to create a rich backdrop for the thought invoking lyrics show. Maybe just back "a wee" (that's Scottish, right ? ;)) bit off some of the reverb. That's about all I'd do to improve these attractive songs and sounds.

Thanks for the music,Clare

Chris

Stereophonics

Kinda like leftovers from past meals

This is not the best I've heard from the Stereophonics. Kinda like leftovers from past meals all mixed up together. The fact that not even one download is offered is lame as well. I makes it impossible for people who do like the music to expose it to radio or podcast audiences. But in this case it's probably a good thing that downloads aren't offered. This is rehashing from a record label trying to milk every penny possible, out of what they deem as the "Stereophonic Formula" for "commercial" success.

Thanks for the stream,

Chris

Jack Tannehill

Gutsy down to earth writng and performing.

Jack Tannehill is old school. He makes honest music and sings from deep in his heart. "I smoke like I'm on fire." is a lyric from his song "Make It Easy". Some folks don't "get" his style. That's okay. You don't have to be popular to be good. Lots of singer-songwriters appreciate his songs and singing. His lyrics are poignant and direct. I'd like to tell him to quit the cigarettes cause I want him to be around for a while. We don't get many these days like him. A definite download.

Thanks for the music Jack,

Chris

Ross Crean

Exceptionally Diffrent, Outstanding Quality !

I picked up on Ross Crean, in a thread started by another artist, in The Editor's Suggestion Discussion on The MDC artist messageboard. I have never heard anyone quite like this artist. Smooth multiranged vocals, with lyrical rhythms that make sense, unlike the forced, syncopated rhyme so prevalent in popular music today. Everything makes sense when this guy sings and it all sounds incredibly natural. The lyrics are like a conversation one would have with oneself in the mirror. Direct, precise, and daring. 5 star downloads, unquestionably.

Thanks for the music, Ross !

Tomfoolio

Real original music Totally unique.

Cornfields by Tomfoolio is the kind of music I've always had a soft spot for. Innovative, daring, not the ordinary, and that is the main reason I like it.

The perfromer - writer takes chances. That's how genres are made and music reaches unknown horizons. The campy jazz scat singing on top of a not quite normal electronic piece, makes one's ears perk up, listening for unusual unknown sounds. Nice work, imaginitive and creative inspiration.

Thanks for the music,

Chris
