There's so much to say that it's really hard to narrow it down. Exploding onto the scene with a refreshing point of view, the ConGa PunKs debut CD offers a musical banquet that is luminous and visionary. The innovative artistry of Cougar Estrada is the guiding force behind this contemporary statement, hatching new idioms with his musical dexterity. These beautifully crafted tight and colorful stylings cross boundaries personal and cultural, human and sacred. Every track leads to a different region, mood and texture, each member of the band enhancing its flavor. Spiritually uplifting (with plenty of dark spunk,) the music is ecstatic and the ritual is healing. Insightful lyrics and rich rhythmic structures abound. An inspired musical document that is monstrous all the way through, this bountiful harvest of songs is ace. Check out what's happening here, this is really cool.
