Sameness

It's not the singer's fault that in order to reach an audience, a business-savvy entertainer has to extend the currently-in-favor monoculture of R&B/hip-hop. This is the deal you do if you want the bucks.

The result is a flat sameness, lots of slinky female entertainers who are mainly about looks and dance, while the music... you remember, the part you listen to with your ears... runs a distant second to the main priority of making a sharp video.

Musicianship

This is heavy progressive rock, fronted powerfully and dramatically by a violin instead of the usual shredding guitar work. Fans who remember Kansas from the late 70's will recognize this match-up.

The "explicit" tag is a bit of a mystery since this piece is instrumental.

Ferocious, expressive, musical, well-produced!

Trippy, long-form jams with no musical filler and no ramble. Interesting musical statements, good quality sound and production. What can I say? This is good music. Check out his website. i'd buy the Panopticon CD if I saw a link.

potential

I hear potential. I like the downtempo numbers pretty much as they are. Suggestion to the artist: break habits, bust out of any comfort zone and make the machine do what it was never intended to do. Suggested listening... maybe Tuner, or KC ProjeKct IV...
