SXSW: Lou Reed, Moby at the Levi's/FADER Fort

Holy smokes, freakin' Lou Reed in the same room as me! If you are reading this FADER, I can't thank you enough for the experience. I was attending a special Lou Reed tribute show, and the 2.5 hour performance featured 11 acts including Thurston Moore, The New Wave Bandits, My Morning Jacket, Yo La Tengo, Dr. Dog, Ezra Furman, and Oh No! Oh My. Each played a classic Velvet Underground/Lou Reed track--and then the whole show ended with Lou Reed joining Moby with a very awesome and sentimental performance of "Walk on the Wild Side". But, it was the words toward the end that really made the experience memorable--when Lou Reed shouted "I love punk rock and I was the first one."
