Grab, record, and you're done. This well-designed and reliable program captures video or screenshots with little pomp or circumstance. CapturePad records video or images as either AVI video files, a sequence of JPEG files, or even SWF (Flash) files. Useful features include options to define the screen area, whether a portion or the whole thing, that you want to capture. CapturePad uses real-time compression, or it can recompress video after recording. The interface is slick and attractive, and all functions are displayed clearly on the main program screen. You also can keep CapturePad running in the system tray and recall it through a series of hot keys. What's more, the program also can grab video and audio from a Web camera, a TV tuner, or even a video camera. Overall, this is a great program for beginners and experts alike who work with video.

"Great for Capturing Flash Video"

Pros: This program was able to capture, from the screen, Flash videos that I was unable to save any other way. CapturePad can capture all movement on a screen or on any specified part of a screen. It has many options. For example, it can capture video in any 1 of 21 types of compression/codec, or with no compression at all. It can capture audio in any 1 of 15 types of compression/encoding, or with no compression at all. It has a small "Preview" window that allows the user to see what the video will look like with the current settings. I love this program.

"Does not capture from digital tv tuner"

Pros: Probably works for some things.

Cons: Other software descriptions specify that they capture from analog tuners only. This one didn't. So, it was a waste of time to download and try.

"The video quality was very poor compared to other programs out there."

Pros: Good price. Easy interface.

Cons: I saved my video to flash and replayed it. THe quality was so poor I could barely read the text on the screen. Also, the flash file was so huge! 84 megs and I only recorded a few minutes!

"Great product, great support!"

Pros: Works smoothly and efficiently. Very dependable and easy to use. Works seamlessly with any Codec loaded on your computer. The support is quick and knowlegable. Haven't found any problems with this software and I started using this way back in it's infancy. The software has been perfected so that it works everytime I've needed it. Never a problem. If you are looking for a great capture program Capture Pad is worth the money!

Cons: Just one, but it's really minor. If the GUI panel were resizable it would be perfect.
