Editor's review of Feed Farmer
The feed reader genre is crowded, and the only noteworthy thing about this entrant is that it will disappoint both the novice and the expert, although for slightly different reasons. Feed Farmer's simple layout hides an overly complex user interface. Users new to feed readers will find it difficult to navigate this program. More experienced users will blanch at the steps needed to simply add an individual feed. Everyone will dislike the huge memory overhead needed to run the application.
Installing Feed Farmer is very easy, and that's the last easy step you'll have until you uninstall the program. Reading the Help file gives the impression this app was written for programmers. Novice users will find the instructions nearly incomprehensible. The steps to add a feed are precise, but leave you wondering where the feed is placed for later viewing. Feed Status and Feed Aggregation are simple functions for many feed readers, but this app greatly complicates the processes. The base functions of subscribing and reading feeds are so unnecessarily convoluted that you wonder why the publisher spent time on a series of extra function plug-ins. Extras that merely make the program extra difficult to use.
Feed Farmer failed to impress our testers. It's far too difficult for the novice feed reader, and failed to impress experts looking for an easily configurable program. It isn't difficult to suggest you skip this program.
