Publisher's description of FeedDemon 1.5
From NewsGator:Thousands of Web sites offer their content as RSS newsfeeds, but accessing this information has been cumbersome at best--until now. FeedDemon enables you to quickly explore the world of RSS from your desktop without having to visit hundreds of sites. It makes RSS as easy to access as your e-mail. FeedDemon 1.5 furthers our goal of simplifying the way you read the web. We listened to your requests and added powerful podcasting tools to automatically download audio files and copy them to your iPod or other media player, integration with Bloglines and NewsGator Online Services, added Flickr and del.icio.us search channels, per-channel newspaper styles, improved popup-blocking under XP SP2, and numerous performance improvements.

- "Feed your news demon"
This well-crafted, standalone newsreader makes an ideal choice for both novices who've never heard of an RSS feed and advanced users looking to put some oomph and flexibility into their reading habits. We particularly liked FeedDemon's setup wizard, which allows you to subscribe to an unlimited number of popular RSS feeds by simply checking boxes. The program also provides links to several other RSS directories.
FeedDemon's interface is very good, but its default setting, which places the headline and browser panes side by side, is somewhat clumsy. This is easily remedied with the buttons that sit right at the top of each folder and each item. The utility's Watch Channels feature searches for news items containing user-specified keywords and places them in a separate group so they're easier to find. We're also fond of the app's News Bins function, which allows you to archive a story simply by dragging a headline and placing it in a storage bin in the left-side column.
Another compelling feature is the integrated podcast manager, which will automatically send new podcasts to your music jukebox. There's a support forum where you can post questions and get answers from other users, and Newsgator has a free webware client so you can check your feeds wherever you are. We strongly recommend using FeedDemon to soothe your hunger.

Version: FeedDemon 1.5
"Well constructed, performing and fun program."
Pros: Good intro included on first run to help you get the feel of things. Option to have the actual browser window at the side or at the bottom. Great collection of preset feeds in a variety of categories. Extensive auto/manual update options and categorization abilities (including a news bin for your flagged stories). Simple wizard helps you add a feed url. Ability to export/import OPML files so you don't lose your favourite collection of feeds. Feed display itself very uncluttered and appealling. You get the title of the story and short snips underneath and you can add it to the bin upon a simple right click or left click to view the full story. I particularly like that you can minimize the browser to get a full view of all the snippets of news in a channel and double click stories you want to read to instantly bring the browser up again. Newspaper for each group is a cool idea.
Cons: Can be slightly fiddly and the lack of ability to customize the toolbars and buttons can leave you constantly taking several clicks to get the simple option you want. The group newspaper isn't totally developed in my opinion and could be better done. Many of the presets are dead feeds but this isn't such a huge deal, just a little bit annoying. It seems (so far) that there is no way to actually rename a channel group, so at the moment I am making a new channel group and moving my channels to it just because I want to rename a category. Ocassional lag when loading things.

Version: FeedDemon 1.5
"Clean, polished, well laid out...as always you get what you pay for."
Pros: I can only compare this to Pluck and I think you should try it first too.
(Just make sure you save your OPML file :)
Then try FeedDemon....as is the case in life, most often you get what you pay for.
This Aggregator is actually FUN to use and a snap to configure.
Using FeedDemon makes me think "Apple" in terms of sensibly, user friendliness and sophistication.
This product is a joy to use and I would highly recommend you to try it and see for yourself.
Cons: I'm not dissing the previous poster, but I'm a little puzzled with his 2" browser window conundrum.
You can mouse drag the window size to your liking.
Maybe he's got a mirco-notebook with a 5" screen?

Version: FeedDemon 1.5
"The best RSS reader on the market, bar none. Fantastic feature set."
Pros: Easy to use, feature laden and fairly priced. Indispensible if you blog.
Cons: Lack of documentation. Although very user friendly, there are things you can do with FeedDemon that aren't readily apparent (e.g., create link dumps).
