Freedom and Whiskey

Freedom and Whiskey is a guitar rock band from Louisville, Kentucky.

The members of the group include: Bill Goins, Mike Huettig, Chuck Mingus (formerly with the group "Days of the New")and Mark Hoekstra (formerly with Muddy Waters).

Bill and Mike wrote and composed most of Freedom and Whiskey's material. Bill sings, plays guitar, bass and keys. Mike plays guitar, drums, bass ,keys and sings. Mark plays harmonica, sings. Chuck plays lead guitar.

The creation of Freedom and Whiskey occured around august of 2001. Bill was working in his home studio writing and learning the art of recording and production work. When Bill and Mike got together to start recording, Mike and Chusck were recording and touring with Days of the New. Todd Smith, co-producer of Freedom and Whiskey, had also worked with Days of the New in the production of a previous album. The band booked a studio in Nashville, Tennessee and set out to record their self-titled first album. The album also includes other artists such as Todd Smith, Rob Edwards, Debbra Belt and Joyce Green.
