The program also monitors Internet activity by logging the addresses of visited Web sites. It monitors the usage and the title of the active application--even text in edit boxes and message boxes is captured. Though it only performs one action, Ghost Key Logger does its job well. As is evident from its title, this program simply records all keystrokes made on your computer. The application logs keystrokes in an encrypted file, which is helpful for security purposes, but it requires you to jump through a few hoops to view reports. To read logs, you must go to the appropriate folder in the program files, enter your password to launch the app, then open the log file from within the program. Ghost Key Logger Lite can't be uninstalled without a password, and we didn't manage to detect traces of the app via the Task Manager or the Start menu. The trial version disables most advanced features, such as the ability to read reports via e-mail and run the program in stealth mode. Although many full-featured security suites include a keylogging utility, this app is still good enough for most home users who don't need the full range of protection.
