This simple, unobtrusive utility belongs to the breed of pop-up blockers that kill pop-ups without any settings required. KaBoom Popup Blocker's interface therefore leaves out most controls on purpose. The main option is to allow individual pop-ups by holding down a hot key. The program, which works with Internet Explorer, blocks new windows from any site that is not in your IE Favorites list. It also permanently turns off Windows Messenger pop-ups. You can turn off pop-up blocking, but when you reenable blocking, it counts against your 10 trial uses. Because it demands no user interaction, KaBoom Popup Blocker will especially suit novices.
