Editor's review of Kaluz IE Graphical Favorites
While it may have boosted Internet Explorer when it was launched back in 2006, this freeware tool isn't up to snuff two years later. Kaluz adds a toolbar to IE that looks and feels outdated. It has only three buttons, no Help file, and takes up more real estate than its functionality merits. To make matters worse, the Kaluz Web site doesn't appear to be available any longer. That wouldn't be so bad if all of the toolbar's functionality didn't rely on the site.
The Kaluz toolbar has a Home button. The tool tip says Your Homepage, but it tries to load www.kaluz.com. The effort was unsuccessful for all of our testers. The only two other options are Add Site and Favorites. With the first, a pop-up window appears that also attempt to go to the Kaluz Web site and fails. Favorites is ostensibly a button to synchronize your IE favorites with Kaluz and it has a pop window as well. The outcome is the same as the other two buttons: failure to load the page. There are no settings or other options.
If you want to improve Internet Explorer, this freeware tool won't be able to help you. Skip it and look for a product that still has some life in it.
