This very basic application notifies you of new e-mails, but handles only a single e-mail account. Mail Notifier's very simple interface displays a list of new e-mails. When new messages are received, a companion-toolbar icon changes color and a message pops up. Setup is very simple for most users, but the utility doesn't work for those using Yahoo Mail or Hotmail. Mail Notifier lacks the sound prompts and customizable pop-ups found in similar software. This trial version operates for 30 minutes per session and randomly displays advertisements at the upper-right corner of your screen. Novices with a single e-mail account may want to give this utility a try, but all other users will find much more robust programs elsewhere.
