NetSoft Basic is a simple, easy to use Tabbed Web Browser with enhanced Web search, window management and Web document/script/cookie cleanup. Multi-purpose navigation bar for both Web navigation and search/map engine lookups; User-definable new window maximum; Customizable search/map engine settings; Domain, registrar & name server lookup; Enhanced Internet cache management; and Popup window blocking.
Also user-definable Toolbar Buttons; Saveable Tabs; Drag-n-drop ordering of unsaved Tabs; Tab context menus; Display new windows outside of Tabs; Rapid search engine Domain lookups; and Thumbnail Tab Viewer. Version 1.0.34 may include unspecified updates, enhancements, or bug fixes.

The addition of a few functions to make this freeware browser more useful are completely offset by a set of annoying bugs. NetSoft Basic's clean interface sports a short set of pull-down menus and 17 icons. Most of the icons replicate functions found in the pull-down menus.
Operating NetSoft Basic is similar to using Internet Explorer, which makes sense since it uses IE engine for browsing. A handful of extra functions are designed to make this browser more useful, but numerous problems forced most testers to give up and uninstall this program. The program's mail option gives users single click access to their default e-mail client, but occasionally couldn't locate the client. It also frequently failed to add, organize, or link to Favorites shortcuts. The program's most glaring problem, however, was an inability to enter a Web address after the first time running the application. The program simply stopped accepting input in the address bar, an unacceptable flaw for a browser.
Five programmable buttons and a quick four pane tab viewer failed to overcome NetSoft Basic's stability problems. This isn't a browser we'd recommend to anyone.
