Biography

Started in 2003 when The Highest Child (aka THC) started working with high-school friend Donkey (Now DJ DONK), by rapping to THC's early-made beats. After much development and evolution through trial and error, The Highest Child's beats made it to the ears of another talented local MC by the name of Injustice. Injustice was 2 years older than THC and was more developed with freestyles and punchlines. Injustice was introduced to THC by DJ Donk, and the 3 started making tracks together. Donkey than started working with turntables and quit rapping, he hit the streets while THC and Injustice were in the Studio, and started DJ'ing tons of local college parties, spreading the word of the 40oz. Freaks and becoming "DJ DONK". By doing so, Donk was able to connect with west-coast show promoter, Eddie Numbskull. Eddie Numbskull booked the 40oz. Freaks for their first show (Opening for Kool Keith)and continued booking them afterwards. The 40oz. Freaks went on to do shows with Tha Alkoholiks, Afroman, Swollen Members, and Living Legends, all in their first year of performing. In 2005 the 40oz. Freaks met with a fellow weed-dealer and music fanatic who just so happened to have a singing voice. The Highest Child brought him in the studio to get him on his first track "Perseverance". The track spread a huge buzz, and was hulkom's official initiation to the team. Shows raged on, once every 3 months or so, enough to re-instate a buzz every now and then, untill The Highest Child created his official Label - Drunken Productions. With Burnt CD's being spread for the last 3 years THC was fed up, and formulated a way to released the first official record release of the 40oz. Freaks. As everything life, thousands of hours went into making a vision reality, and the 40oz. Freaks were headed down a never-before traveled road. Faithful to the vision rest of the Freaks followed THC and created their first album "To The Kids". Which was legitimately pressed but slightly gained recognition due to bad marketing. (Check it out its distributed on iTunes, Napster, Rhapsody, Amazon, and Emusic) In 2007 after releasing the 1st album, The 40oz. Freaks recruited the last member to join the freaks - Kingpin. Together, refreshed and hungy even after the release of their first album, the freaks have yet to feel "WHOLE" so they started right away on the new album with Kingpin involved. Months of hard work, and thousands of dollars of weed spent to support The Highest Childs smoking habbit.. The 40oz. Freaks finished their 2nd album "Anomaly". Which was just released May 2008. The album features very close affiliates, and Fam - Public Defendaz, and Profane Remy. Check it out on iTunes, Amazon, Rhapsody, Napster, Emusic, LALA, or 40ozfreaks.com. Be sure to check the offical website tho fo real!!!!!
