OpenzUp is an easy-to-use file opener that opens your favorite files quickly. When you start the application, it scans your system's main folders, such as your desktop, the Start menu, My Documents, and Favorites, and stores them in its local database. After that, all you have to do is type in the first few characters of the file you want, press Enter, and voila...that will open it up. You also can use OpenzUp to search the Web with Google and Yahoo. Simply point to Search and type in your query. Moreover, with its built-in utility called Skinz, you can change the colors and even the transparency level of the application.

This basic utility gives you one-click access to many areas of your PC. OpenzUp's interface basically is a small box containing a list of links to all installed programs, Internet browsers, and Start menu functions. Clicking any link immediately brings up the requested application. However, we should note that the default setting makes the application almost completely transparent, rendering it nearly impossible to use. However, after a bit of futzing, we corrected the problem by adding more opacity. You also can adjust the RGB color levels to customize OpenzUp's look, though we really wish the program could run in the system tray. Despite its simplicity and minimal feature set, Openzup is an application we think a wide variety of users will find handy.
