Building on the success of its Roland TB-303, TR-808, TR-909 emulator ReBirth, Propellerhead Software pushes into the future with Reason, a full rack of synths, samplers, drum machines, and powerful effects. Users will find almost limitless possibilities in the massive collection of sounds and the easy-to-program step sequencer.

The first thing you'll notice is the unique user interface, which duplicates a real studio rack. Even better is how the Tab key rotates the whole rack so you can see how everything is connected via virtual cables. The overall sound quality of Reason is clean and bright. Although the demo has limited presets, the full retail version comes with two CDs full of sounds. The step sequencer and arrangement tools are basic but offer plenty of flexibility for composing professional-sounding tunes. Although Reason is a powerful program with great-sounding instruments, it focuses a bit narrowly on making dance music. Reason is full-featured and customizable enough for experienced producers to make original songs, and the friendly step sequencer and top-notch layout make it easy for beginners to get bumpin'.

"Demo is soo bad I will not buy Reason"

Pros: Not sure what the pros are because the demo only gave me 20 minutes to snoop about.
I hardly scratched the surfice before I was kicked out after the 20 minutes was up.

Cons: So far, an appauling demo.
When you are potentially going to spend over $400 of one piece of software, you expect the demo to be good enough to see what you will get for your money.
Oh NO! Quite opposite in this case. The demo didn't alloe me enough time to even scratch the surfice of this extremly detailed program.
I do not know the full potential of this software because of the appauling demo, and so I will not be buying it.
Maybe one of their competitors will have better demos.
