This plain database application stores your favorite recipes but offers only limited features. Recipe Box has a commonplace interface with only a few buttons for creating, editing, and viewing recipes. It includes options to manage recipe entries; plan a menu; create and edit shopping lists; and view three dictionaries. The program doesn't include any recipes, though it's easy to add your own. You can import or export recipes in an extension unique to the program, or add recipe ingredients to a shopping list. The Menu Manager lets you create a meal name and associate recipes with it. The Dictionaries menu includes preloaded databases for ingredients, measurements, and prep methods, which can be viewed and edited. You cannot store more than 10 recipes and printing is disabled with the trial version. This program worked fine in testing and anyone can use it, but most won't be impressed by its design or functionality.

"Wonderful!"

Pros: With all the useful features and user shortcuts, it's like I designed this software myself. You don't have to type every ingredient over and over again in each recipe. Once an ingredient is added in one recipe, all you do is type a few letters of the ingredient in the next recipe and it finishes typing it for you. This is so incredibly useful if you plan to type in all those recipes you've been keeping on scraps of paper. I also love the export/import feature. I share a lot of recipes with my family and now that we all have this program, they don't have to type them into their computer any more!

Cons: I wish it would import recipes from cooking websites.
