Scott's Binary Clock is a clock that displays the current time in binary using a LED display. It's a little gadget or conversation piece for your desktop. It really doesn't serve much of a practical purpose, unless your goal is to display the time in a format that nobody but you can read. Emphasis has been placed on making the clock cool looking and realistic (the LEDs in the clock were obtained from taking pictures of real-world LEDs). Version 1.8 may include unspecified updates, enhancements, or bug fixes.

With this program you can place a binary clock on your desktop, although most folks will need to read the tutorial to figure out how to use it to tell time. Scott's Binary Clock presents an LED-like binary display of the system clock. Right-click its small interface to reveal this application's settings options, including the ability to select 12- or 24-hour modes, to change the color and shape of the clock and the LED display, and to hide the seconds digits. You can configure the clock to either the more-common BCD or the traditional binary mode. Technically, each LED bulb represents binary values, wherein Off or a darker color means zero and On means one. Thankfully, a helpful documentation file is packaged for users new to binary. All told, we agree with the publisher, who writes in the read-me file that his application "really doesn't serve much of a practical purpose," but users with an interest in binary systems probably will get a kick out of this freeware.

  "Nice Little Binary Clock"

  Pros: Simple, easy to use and doesn't cause any problems on my comp. If you want a binary clock for your desktop, give this one a try.

  Cons: Graphics are a bit ragged when used against a light background or with the interface backgrounds provided. Mine looks killer with the transparent I-Face against a black background. Just a little bit of refinement would get 4 stars from me.
