This Tetris clone breaks no new ground but does earn our praise for its multiple variations on the basic theme. As its name implies, Valhalla Blocks throws a Viking theme on the tried-and-true Tetris formula, though this is largely reflected in the appearance of the blocks, which contain what we assume are Nordic runes. The program offers six puzzle styles, depending on how big of a challenge you seek. For instance, the Classic mode is fairly easy to master, while the Crazyx game boggles the mind with its bizarre and perplexing block formations. The game's graphics are strictly average, and user-customization options are rather limited, only letting you adjust the sound and play in full-screen mode. Some folks also may find the one-hour trial period a bit short. Valhalla Blocks best suits hard-core Tetris fanatics of all skill levels.
