This application effectively hides your desktop, though its security measures are easily overcome. Every time you leave your PC you can quickly kick the program off with its quick launch icon. When active, X-ScreenBoard blocks access to your desktop, programs, and hot-key functions. We like that the program's interface acts as a lock screen and message board in one. Your colleagues can write you messages that are only readable after entering the trial password. Though we were originally impressed with X-ScreenBoard, our enthusiasm is promptly tempered when the application is easily sidestepped by a system reboot. In most instances we'd say a 10-day trial is too short, but once security-minded users learn of its sad defenses they won't need any more time.
