- "Explore with XYplorer"
XYplorer is a shareware alternative to Windows Explorer that offers more tools and file information than the native file manager. You can have XYplorer automatically show thumbs in the document list, or you can use the info panel to get a full-size preview. The info panel offers a wealth of information about files with a powerful search tool that supports Boolean logic, regular expressions, whole word matching, fuzzy terms, and more to find any file quickly.
Although the search feature is arguably the best thing about XYplorer, there are other great features included. The program offers a traditional layout for users who want to keep a Windows Explorer feel, and a tabbed layout for those ready to move on. Users can also run XYplorer in conjunction with scripts and create shortcuts to other apps. At just a shade over 1MB, it's tiny, and since it doesn't edit your computer's Registry, XYplorer is completely portable and utterly worth trying.

Version: XYplorer 5.2
Pros: A windows explorer replacement, that is so powerful that you can't imagine how you could work without it. Tab interfaced, letting you open several directories at once. Powerful visual filters, really fast find function and many, many more features that makes it superior compared to Windows Explorer. It has so many features that you almost discover new powerful features each time you use it.
Try the demo version and you won't get disappointed. Frequently updated and has a very active user forum and a really exceptional on-line help in form of a wiki almost daily updated.

Version: XYplorer 5.2
""very few programs can compare to the integrity of this product, period""
Pros: I have been a registered user of XYplorer since the days of
TrackerV3; March of 2002. It is an indspensable program
which I have programmed to open up as soon as I boot up
my computer. On the rare occasion where I have required
support, Donald Lessau (the Creator) has promplty
answered my questions, and has even implemented
some suggestions I have made to improve the versatility
of XYplorer. Not enough can be said about the quality and
usability of this program, which is constantly being
upgraded and improved. There are very few programs that
can compare to the integrity of this product, period.
Cons: Nothing worth mentioning!

"alternative EXPLORER on WINDOWS"
Pros: And much better than that, it can browse files and folder in TABS! Is not an Internet browser as announced somewhere in this site.
No risk at all: clean install/uninstall: simply resides in its own folder, so delete the folder to get a full, clean uninstall.
Lightweight and so powerful... Check the product's homepage to see the awesome quantity of features it has (Be ready to pass a long, long time time reading)
Cons: Seems too expensive for an 800kb software.

Version: XYplorer 5.2
Pros: After searching for several months for an intuitive file manager, i found this and I am glad i did. It has a whole new way of looking at the files you want to manage. it is a tabbed manager which means you can have multiple folders open at the same time and quickly switch between these tabs and perform all the known file operations effortlessly. for eg, you can simply drag and drop a file onto a tab and it will be copied there. you can assign different behavior to different tabs, like fixed tab, semi-flexible tabs abd super flexible tabs. XYplorer can hide files you dont want to see like for eg. the important system files you are scared of deleting, you can color different filetypes to your liking for eg. images can be red, movies green and documents blue, finding files is extremely easy and powerful eg. it has boolean and regexp feature and also fuzzy logic apart from find by size, date etc., You can preview music, videos, word or excel and almost any kind of file. It has this cool breadcrumb feature, which lets you navigate forward and backward in history. The hotlist maintains a list of hot paths (most recently visited path) for easily jumping around. the favorite panel has all you favorite files, folder or network location which can be renamed and colored and all. The mouse down blow up feature enlarges the images to full screen with one mouse click, a cool tool for managing photos. Ofcourse, i cannot list all the features here. Just give it a try. Its really hard to tell which is more user friendly, the product or the forum. You will simply love this.
