Biography

Ace Boggess is a poet and novelist, author of one book of poems titled, The Beautiful Girl Whose Wish Was Not Fulfilled. His writing appears in many literary journals, including Harvard Review, Poetry East, Notre Dame Review, Atlanta Review and the like. His music is lyrics-driven and varies in style from song to song, with folksy older tunes to jam-band inspired rock on the newer work. He performs and records solo, and also with various local musicians and vocalists. His influences range from Rusted Root to Van Morrison to old metal (though he no longer writes metal, thankfully). Of the songs posted here, those marked 1995 are more folk-styled, with arpeggios, simple noodling leads, and melodic vocals; those marked 2004 are more complex and experimental with deeper, somewhat more spiritual themes. The newer songs include a wide variety of styles and accompanying musicians/vocalists.
