Rousing drums and chugging guitars highlight the garage-rock sympathies of this indie three. But there's ample evidence that the group is just trashy by choice. On a track like "The City," fuzzy, hard pop recalls the pristinely skuzzy glam rock of Marc Bolan's T.Rex.
On the heels of the release, the band has announced a string of June dates with messy-haired downtown rocker Jesse Malin. Before hitting the road with him in June, Acute (which features former members of Ozma and Poulain) will be celebrating their new album with a CD Release party at Silverlake Lounge in LA, and a solo performance from lead-singer Isacc Lekah in sunny Florida.
