The Brooklyn based group Afuche, spawned by elements of Jazz, Afro-Beat, and film music, currently have a basement cluttered with a Tres Guitar, stand up Bass, Clarinets, Wurlitzer Piano, Trumpet, Saxophone, Drums, and a multitude of percussion instruments. Zach Ryalls and Ruben Sindo Acosta started Afuche with a consensus that they wanted to take a different approach in making music than they've ever been involved with. The end product is undeniably fresh. Their compositions aim to shift through moods, from cannibalistic energy to a rainy funeral procession, one can only guess where this group is going next. With a revolving cast of multi-instrumentalists and a ramshackle live show, Afuche is a sight not to be missed.
