Oscar Wilde once wrote of the importance of being earnest. In the '80s, hair metal outfit Poison took his words to heart, as did '90s rock balladeers the Goo Goo Dolls. Those bands have their '00s heir in Stockholm's Alive, who joins string-popping acoustic guitar with lyrics so sincere they'd make Johnny Rzeznik blush.
