Biography

Formed in the Spring of 1997, this instrumental three-piece from Chicago has little in common with the indie-rock fodder (read: EMO) that has flooded the underground music scene, and even less in common with the highly vaunted "Chicago aesthetic." And they don't care about kissing ass. What AMERICAN HERITAGE does care about is writing songs that challenge and subvert traditional song structures without falling prey to minimalist meandering guitar rock or improvisational self-indulgence. This combo uses free-jazz, punk, and metal to form densley packed, chaotic musical arrangements. The result is a mind-blowing headfuck that cannot be dumped into any one specific musical genre. AMERICAN HERITAGE has released 2 records in Europe, and this is their debut American release. These songs will confuse you, hurt your ears, anger you, but will definitely leave you floored. This CD also contains a quicktime movie at the end for your viewing pleasure.
