Feral garage-skronk on the loose! Watch out when Washington, D.C., power-psych foursome Apes is on the rampage, disproving Neanderthals who think bands can't rock without guitars. The nutso organ and thunderous bass are a handful, sure, but manic singer Paul Weil really sends Apes into the wild.
The debut Birdman release for the Washington, DC quartet, contains three stories from the beyond told to the band’s blind weaver, Maximilla. Tapestry Mastery presents six mind-numbing songs, more bombastic, fertile and charismatic than any Apes release to date. They rip it apart live with their signature Keyboard-Bass-and-Drum grooves and singer Paul’s sheer intensity. Tapestry Mastery finds the Apes creating a record equal to their live show.
APES ARE: Erick “Jackie Magik” Jackson (Bass), Amanda “Majestic Ape” Kleinman (Organ), Jeff “Ronald Wolf” Schmid (Drums), and Paul “Count 101” Weil (Vocals).

The have released two records for the wondrous FrenchKiss Records, “The Fugue In The Fog” and “Oddeyesee,” and the self-produced epic “Street Warz” on Planaria Recordings.
APES are not your average band in sound or in concept. They compose songs around drawings they make and compose drawings around stories they imagine, stories that would burn green into the eyes of Philip K Dick, Jorge Luis Borges, and Ray Bradbury.
APES have secured their live reputation during their multiple trips around the US and Europe. Their show, this “brutal cudgel,” is a lightning blitz of sexual tension and assault.
